The Wickliffe Mounds archaeological site and museum was established on October 2, 1932, by Fain W. King. Each year in October, to participate in International Archaeology Day, we commemorate this achievement by presenting exhibits and special programs about the site’s fascinating history.
This year will be the 85th anniversary of Kings' establishment of the Wickliffe Mounds Ancient Buried City site.
Take a guided tour through the History of Wickliffe Mounds. Staff will take visitors on a leisurely hike around the park grounds, mounds and museum and learn about the site’s fascinating history from the 1890's to the present. Program hikes will be at 10:30 a.m. and will meet in the Welcome Center. This program is included with museum admission of $5 adults, $4 kids and seniors.
