All about the Eclipse
August 19th and 20th, 2017
Amateur and Professional Astronomers from all over the world will be descending upon the US for the August 21st Total Eclipse of the Sun.
It is estimated that this could be the most watched celestial event in the history of humankind. Lake Barkley State Resort Park has been selected as one of the gathering points for these observers.
During this presentation, veteran eclipse chasers will share their experiences and give an overview of why seeing this celestial event is so important.
The first 100 audience members will receive a free pair of safety glasses designed to look safely at the Sun.
The general public is invited to this free and exciting presentation. After the Saturday presentation, there will be telescope observations of the planets Jupiter and Saturn, weather permitting.
8 pm - Saturday, August 19th
2:00 pm Sunday, August 20th.
