State Historic Site Perryville became the site of the most destructive Civil War battle in the state which left more than 6,000 killed, wounded or missing.

Group Field Trips

Perryville is the site of the bloodiest Civil War battle on Kentucky soil. More than 7,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing. The park offers an award-winning educational program called the School of the Soldier program. Elementary school students can learn what it was like to serve as a soldier who fought in 1862 at Perryville. It lasts 4 hours and costs $4 per student.

The park has Civil War monuments, picnic areas, a playground, small museum and gift shop. For more information, call Joni House at 859-332-8631.
