American Diabetes Association Tour De Cure

Big Bone Lick State Park will be hosting the American Diabetes Associations: Tour De Cure this year on June 1st. The Tour De Cure is a fund-raising cycling event to benefit the ADA. The tour is a ride, not a race with routes designed for everyone from the occasional cyclist to the experienced cyclist. Whether cyclists ride 8 miles or 100 miles, they will travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer them on. Winter Festival

It may not snow or be cold, but you can join us at Big Bone Lick for our annual Winter Festival in July. Campers will be able to participate in games and crafts that would even make Santa's elves jealous. Santa Claus might even stop by to see if everyone is being naughty or nice. Make sure to bring your favorite winter holiday decorations and participate in our campsite decoration contest.
Pirate Week

Avast, ya land lubbers! We be havin' all o' tha pirates in thee area o'er fer a pirate get together at Big Bone Lick. We'll be a plai'n our favrit pirate games an' makin' some pirate crafts fer tha young scallywags. That’s not all we pirate's 'el be upta during the week as the cap'n will have a special party fer all 'o ya sea dogs. Plus, find tha cap'ns lost treesure an' return it ta him fer yer special s'prise. While here dinnae firget ta visit thee pirate's cove, pirate's hideout, and the shipyard pub. So set yer sails ya swabbies an' have a swimmin' good time, just be careful er tha cap'n might make ya walk ther plank!
Salt festival

Journey back in time as Big Bone returns to days long past. There will be numerous hands on demonstrations and activities for people of all ages; including flint-knapping, pioneer life, salt making, weaving, spear throwing, storytelling, music, atlatl tossing, and lots more. Browse the crafters corner to see the many wonderous hand crafted items for sale; then refresh yourself and your family at the food court. This year's festival will host the second annual Big Bone Lick atlatl (spear throwing) contest! While you are visiting don't forget to see our bison herd and newly renovated nature center.
Halloween Spook-fest

Help us scare away the evil spirits here at Big Bone Lick by bringing all your little ghouls, ghosts, witches, and skeletons to the park for our annual Halloween Spook-fest. Campers will be treated to Halloween games, crafts, and special events. Bring the scariest decorations you can find for the campsite decoration contest where you can win fabulous prizes. Don't forget those pumpkins so you can enter our traditional, no pattern, pumpkin carving contest.
