Airplane Club
This is THE hobby for aviation enthusiasts. The Steve Henry Model Aircraft Flying Field attracts RC airplane enthusiasts nationwide. Membership in the River City Remote Controllers (RCRC) is required to fly. Contact Bill Fluke at 241-0344.
BMX Racing
The annual NBL/BMX Grand Nationals here at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park attracts the best of the best BMX riders from all over the world. The race track here is one of the finest in the country. There is a local race almost every Sunday from April-November. Visit www.derbycitybmx.com.
Dog Park
The off-leash dog area is the first official dog park in Louisville. This 4-acre park is the perfect place to get your pooch the exercise and social time he needs to stay healthy. Flag Football
Are you ready for some football?! Adult leagues for ages 18 and up are now forming. League play begins in early August, just in time for the kickoff of football season. Contact Reggie Gresham at 212-4727.
Lacrosse
The Kentucky Lacrosse Association organizes league tournaments, competitions, and championship events in various age categories from youth to high school for both boys and girls. This is an exciting and growing sport here in Kentucky. Visit www.kylax.org for more information.
Sawyer Swim Team

Sawyer Youth Soccer Association ("SYSA") is a recreational soccer club for age groups Under 6 through Under 19, SYSA is an affiliate of Kentucky Youth Soccer Association ("KYSA") and United States Youth Soccer Association ("UYSA"). Tom Sawyer Foundation
The Tom Sawyer State Park Foundation, a 501C3 Nonprofit Organization, and its members are committed to the support, betterment and preservation of E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, its facilities, activities and professional staff. Foundation board members will strive to build public support, awareness and utilization of the park, and they will encourage state government support of Jefferson County’s representative in the Kentucky state park system. The "Tom" Sawyer Foundation is a volunteer organization that contributes ideas and funds to benefit projects and activities here at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. The Foundation plans, organizes, and provides the annual Independence Day Celebration. They also provide numerous hours of volunteer service to assist the staff here at E. P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park with various programs and events, such as the Eggstravaganza and the Halloween Harvest of Horrors. Over the years, the Foundation has planted and cared for hundreds of trees. This project transformed the once barren fields into what we see today.
The Foundation could use your help. There is a constant need for money to maintain the park grounds, repair and renovate park facilities, and to develop and produce programs, activities and events. Your gift to the Foundation goes directly to the betterment of the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park. The Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
