Paintsville Lake State Park Paintsville Lake gleams like a jewel in the crown of mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

With steep cliffs and wooded coves along the shoreline, this lake provides 1,140 acres of boating, skiing and fishing pleasure.

After a day on the lake, relax in the campground, featuring 32 developed sites with restrooms, showers, laundry and sewer hookups. A full-service marina is located near the campground, offering rental houseboats, pontoons and fishing boats.

Camping & RV

RV Campers at Paintsville Lake State ParkThe 32-site campground has electricity, water, and sewer hookups at each site. In addition, there are 10 primitive sites. Restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities are provided. Two of the RV Sites are adapted for the disabled. Pets are allowed if restrained. Closed for season from November 18th to March 14th.

Mountain Homeplace

For a glimpse into a vanished way of life, visit the nearby Mountain Homeplace. This living history farm recreates Appalachian farm life in the mid-1800s.

Shelter Rental

Two sheltered pavilions and two shelters are located in the campground area. Each can be reserved in advance by calling the campground number. Reservation fee.

Things To Do

Anglers will find excellent opportunities to catch a variety of species, from walleye to redbreast sunfish.

 

A full-service marina offers 84 open slips, 80 covered slips, a launching ramp and rental of fishing boats, houseboats, pontoons and pedal boats.

Playgrounds, horseshoe pits, a sand volleyball court, and a basketball court are located in the campground.
