Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park Positioned just along the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest, this resort appeals to nature-lovers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all.

Buckhorn Lodge

 Relax in front of one of the copper-hooded fireplaces or simply enjoy the fresh mountain air on the veranda. Each of the 36 rooms features private balconies or patios so you can enjoy your personal view of the lake or mountains. With full amenities, Buckhorn Lodge is the perfect haven for you. Open year-round. Rooms available by late afternoon. Check-out by noon, Eastern Time.  Pets are not allowed (with the exception of service dogs). View accommodation details.

Cottages

If you desire seclusion, but need convenience, we have the perfect accommodations for you. Two, two-bedroom executive cottages and one, three-bedroom executive cottage are available. Tableware, cooking utensils, and linens are provided, with fresh linens available daily. Open year-round. Cottages available by late afternoon. Check-out by 11:00 AM, Eastern Time.  Pets are not allowed (with the exception of service dogs).

Bowlingtown Country Kitchen

 Our country style menu features many hometown favorites. Try the Bluegrass special - country style beans cooked over a slow fire with home fries, cole slaw and fried corn bread. Seating is available for 220, including two private dining areas that accommodate 40 and 50 people respectively. As a supporter of Kentucky Proud program we utilize locally grown meats and produce when available.

Gift Shop

Located in the lobby of our beautiful lodge, overlooking Buckhorn Lake, is our gift shop. It features Kentucky Crafted items and Pride of Kentucky Food Products as well as an array of souvenirs and candles. We also feature books by Kentucky Authors. Some of our unique souvenirs include; collectable spoons and Unbridled Spirit Merchandise, also an assortment of Kentucky clothing.

Recreational Activities

If you enjoy friendly competition, then Buckhorn is the place for you. A tennis court, shuffleboard court, sandpit volleyball court, and horseshoe pits are available for park guests. Overnight guests may check out equipment.

Planned Recreation

Daily activities in the summer and special events year-round are available for children and adults under the guidance of a trained recreation director.

Picnicking & Playgrounds

Picnic facilities available at various spots within the park.

Water sports enthusiasts will find entertainment on Buckhorn Lake. The marina has 95 open slips, two launching ramps, rental pontoon boats, and fishing boats. Open April - October; $.

You can cast away your cares at Buckhorn Lake! The lake is home to largemouth and Kentucky bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, and muskie.

Miniature golf is an activity the entire family will enjoy! Test your putting skills on the 18-hole course. Open April 1st to October 31st.

Hikers can explore the natural beauty and resources of Buckhorn Lake with a stroll along a 1.5 mile, self-guiding, easy walking trail. And the opportunities for mountain hiking are limitless. View Trail Information.

The lodge swimming pool is for the exclusive use of lodge and cottage guests. The public beach has a bathhouse complex for visitor convenience. Swimming is seasonal. Beach is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
