The fieldstone lodge at this resort is named in honor of Jesse Hilton Stuart (1906-1984), Poet Laureate and native of Greenup County. Peruse Stuart’s works and personal momentos in the lodge reading room. Most of the 36 rooms feature private patios and balconies overlooking beautiful Greenbo Lake. With a name like Anglers Cove, you know you are going to find scrumptious catfish dinners and seafood galore! The relaxing atmosphere provides a special place to bring your guests and a wonderful place for the entire family to gather for delicious dining. Chef Chris Metz and his entire staff welcome you. As a supporter of Kentucky Proud program we utilize locally grown meats and produce when available.
Hours: Breakfast - Monday through Friday serving free continental breakfast for lodge guests during November 15 - March 15. Full service breakfast March 16 - November 14 daily. Breakfast hours are 7am to 10am daily Sunday thru Saturday.
Lunch: Monday thru Saturday- 11:30pm to 2pm and Sunday-12pm to 3pm Sunday.
Dinner: 5pm to 9pm.
Enjoy the great outdoors at the Greenbo Lake campground. The campground features 58 sites with utility hook ups and 35 primitive sites. Three dumping stations, two central service buildings with showers and rest rooms, and a grocery store guarantee camping convenience.
Enjoy a variety of entertainment this summer, including “Battle of the Bands”, high school drama productions, concerts, music festivals, arts and more. Pets are allowed if restrained.
Recreational Activities
Tennis and basketball courts are located in the park for guests’ enjoyment. We also have horseshoe pits. Sports equipment may be checked out by overnight guests.
Planned Recreation
Daily summer activities and year-round special events for children and adults are planned under the guidance of a trained recreation director.
Picnicking & Playgrounds
The park has two picnic shelters in the beach area (with rest rooms), and in the campground (without rest rooms). Picnic tables, grills and playgrounds provide for hours of fun. $ for shelter rental.
Gift Shop
This unique gift shop caters to train enthusiasts and book lovers. The featured Kentucky author is Jesse Stuart, who wrote many books, poems and novels. Kentucky handcrafts, many from local artisans, fill the shop.
The marina, open April 1 - October 31, offers 65 open slips, rental pontoon boats, row boats, canoes, and motor boats. No jet skis are allowed on lake. The whole of the lake is idle only, and all boaters must observe no wake speeds. Fishing pier and boat ramp for launching boats are open.
Cast away your cares at Greenbo Lake! This 225-acre lake is home of two state largemouth bass records! The lake also holds large bluegill, crappie, catfish, and trout.

Perfect your putting on the 18-hole miniature golf course in the camping area. Open April through October.

A swimming pool adjacent to the lodge is for the exclusive use of lodge guests. A community pool features a water slide and a children’s area with a rain tree. It is located next to the lake (swimming is not allowed in the lake).
Open Memorial Day weekend through mid-August.
The trails provide the perfect opportunity for hikers, mountain bikers and horsemen to enjoy the scenery of beautiful Greenbo Forest. Self-guided trails provide 25 miles of easy-to-difficult hiking, or marked for multi-use.
