Greenbo Lake State Resort ParkThe fieldstone lodge at this resort is named in honor of Jesse Hilton Stuart, (1906-1984) Poet Laureate and native of Greenup County. Peruse Stuart’s works and personal momentos in the lodge’s reading room, or take in the mountain beauty on display along our 25 miles of nature trails and preserves.

Group Field Trips

 

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park offers a variety of field trip activities for all ages including a hayride around the park, nature hikes, boat rides (seasonal), a tour of the 19th century Iron Furnace and the One-Room Schoolhouse located at the park, and various nature programs tailored to your group. Some activities may include a fee.

The park is open year-round; classes can visit on weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., call Recreation Supervisor Paul Verespy or Naturalist Claire Earnhart for information at 606-473-7324 or 1-800-325-0083.
