Cool off with a dip in our new pool (completely A.D.A.-accessible)! The swimming pool adjacent to the lodge, is for the exclusive use of overnight park guests. Seasonal.
Children's Pool with waterfall
Pine Mountain is a hiker’s paradise with 15 miles of self-guided trails. View Trail Information. Hike to Chained Rock, the Hemlock Garden or various other trails with names like Honeymoon Falls, Rock Hotel, and Living Stairway. The new Pine Mountain Trail, will pass near the park when completed. A 180-print collection produced by world-famous wildlife artist Ray Harm is on permanent display throughout Evans lodge, restaurant, and convention center.
Kentucky Journalist Herndon J. Evans donated the first Harm prints in 1969. The completed collection, representing 30 years of work, was dedicated in the late 1990s.
Ray Harm lived with his family in the area around Pine Mountain in the late 1960s through the 1970s.
Game Room
Located in the lower level of the C.V. Whitney Conference Center (accessed from the outside). This area provides a coin-operated billiard table, ping-pong table, foosball table, card/checker/chess tables, and video games for your enjoyment. Board games and playing cards are available for guest checkout from the guest services desk.
Gift Shop
The gift shop offers the best selection of books on this area featuring the wilderness gap. It also features a variety of Kentucky made candies, sauces, honey and jellies.
Picnicking & Playgrounds
Tables, shelters, grills, and rest rooms are located near Laurel Cove. Playgrounds are located throughout the park. Shelters are available for rental up to three years in advance.
Planned Recreation
Tthe Park’s Office of Recreation and Interpretation takes great pride in providing safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences for all park visitors. It is the goal of the program services staff to enhance the park visitor’s experience by interpreting the park's natural, cultural, and historical resources and to provide a wide variety of creative recreational opportunities.
Daily program activities are offered Memorial Day through Labor Day unless otherwise posted. For a weekly schedule of activities please see the Guest Services Desk or the Naturalist/Recreation staff.
Interpretive Center
The Pine Mountain Interpretive Center combines innovative exhibits and an interactive kiosk, providing visitors to tell the park’s rich natural history story. The center is the perfect place to begin a visit to the park with information available on the park’s unique geology, mountain formation, wildlife, forest communities, wildflowers, and many other topics. The center is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm daily.
