We've put together some great gift ideas for you to better plan and shop for the holidays at Kentucky State Parks.

Winter Adventure

Three parks in western Kentucky will offer Eagle Watch Weekends in January and February. The parks and dates are: Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in Gilbertsville, Jan. 12-13; Lake Barkley State Resort Park near Cadiz, Jan. 26-27; and Kenlake State Resort Park near Aurora, Feb. 2-3. Barren River Lake State Resort Park will offer its Nature Watch Weekends for sandhill cranes, Jan. 25-27 and Feb. 8-10. Participants can register for morning or afternoon trips led by naturalists. Registration is $30 per adult, $18 for ages 8-12 and includes an evening session, a sunrise or sunset field trip, boxed meal and a T-shirt. Elk Viewing Tours resume at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg and Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park in Buckhorn in January, and continue in February and March. This is one of several excellent wildlife viewing tours offered by the Kentucky State Parks. Call the parks for details and reservations.
