REACH (Recreation, Environment and Cultural History) is a unique overnight educational camp program in which trained naturalists & recreational staff design custom programs to help encourage student interest in nature, history and outdoor activities. This offers an innovative way to teach your students about Kentucky’s cultural, natural and historical resources. It is a great project-based educational program with a little adventure thrown in!

Available at most of our Kentucky State Resort Parks, REACH camps are available November-May. Students experience the great outdoors and Kentucky history where it took place, which helps them cultivate an awareness of their natural and cultural heritage. Activities such as aquatics, geology, state history, plant identification and outdoor recreations skills, supply educators with valuable teaching components and make learning fun for students! These activities can give students experiences that relate to every course of study including natural science, math, history, language arts and social skills. Naturalists and recreational staff work with teachers to ensure that the program design coordinates into the classes' program of study and core content criteria. Groups should be a minimum of 20 guests.

How does a meeting at a Kentucky State Park benefit the corporate guest? Kentucky State Parks are designed as a cross-between a conference center and a resort. Your meeting will be set in a scenic, remote, distraction-free environment. Meeting space is designed for the small-medium size conference, training course or board retreat.

In order to check availability the corporate customer is not only asked the number of attendees and set-up style for the meeting room – but most importantly the “objective of the meeting”. Each meeting is planned and designed around the objective of each group’s meeting purpose. Once your objective is identified, we will plan your meeting to ensure that it is not only successful and productive – but FUN.

Kentucky State Parks have the “best recreation & interpretation staff” in the region. The diversity of the recreation & interpretation staff is incredible. Include “ice-breakers” and “team builders” in your agenda – it can all be included in your package.

A package? Yes, Kentucky State Parks is in the process of developing several Corporate Complete Meeting Packages or CMPs. The CMP basically includes: dinner on the night of arrival; accommodations, breakfast & lunch the next day; meeting room rental; audio visual equipment, an all-day beverage break with AM & PM snacks and gratuities. Packages can include sportswear, recreation, golf and entertainment. For a productive, successful and memorable corporate meeting – select a Kentucky State Park – it all comes “naturally”!

State Associations are trade specific alliances for organizations and companies interested in exchanging knowledge and information that relates to their particular needs. The typical difference with State Association meetings is that they are designed with a more relaxed atmosphere for learning. Networking is of the utmost importance for these meetings. What better environment than a Kentucky State Park.

Most State Associations are looking for the WOW factor for their members. With Kentucky State Parks that could mean dinner on one of the many lakes, breakouts on pontoon boats or in a cave, photo-scavenger hunts, casino or horse racing nights, a canoe excursion, paddle boat races or the ever popular live animal programs.

Ask about our Kentucky Proud Meals for your guests. Menus are developed to use the freshest Kentucky-grown products available for that time of year. Menus with the names of the Kentucky farms where the items were purchased and local musicians create a memorable experience! Bring your association meeting to Kentucky State Parks where the WOW factor just comes “naturally”!

Programs designed for your group.

Our recreation/interpretive staff will work with your group to develop a program that combines both interest and needs. Some of our groups are “crafty”. Others want to visit the local attractions. And then, there are those who want to hike and canoe. We will make sure that everyone in your group is comfortable with the activities planned for your stay. They will naturally want to come back!
