Elk were reintroduced to Kentucky in 1997 as a restoration project by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.  From 1997 - 2003 approximately 1513 elk were transported into Kentucky.  Reproduction has been very high, with approximately 90% of the adult cows producing calves.  Currently, the estimated elk population in Kentucky is over 10,000 elk.  The best areas for elk habitat are on reclaimed surface mines in Eastern Kentucky.

Jenny Wiley's Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the campground at 2 p.m. We will have 8,000 treat filled eggs along with some prize filled eggs. Ages 12 and under. Bring a camera and get some pictures with the Easter Bunny!
