Elk Viewing Tour Prestonsburg, KY

Elk were reintroduced to Kentucky in 1997 as a restoration project by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.  From 1997 - 2003 approximately 1513 elk were transported into Kentucky.  Reproduction has been very high, with approximately 90% of the adult cows producing calves.  Currently, the estimated elk population in Kentucky is over 10,000 elk.  The best areas for elk habitat are on reclaimed surface mines in Eastern Kentucky.

Buffalo Night consists of a variety of buffalo dishes on the buffet along with Appalachian sides and desserts. Explore the music, religion and dance of the Cherokee Indian Nation with Jeff Hatmaker. Jeff will be in Cherokee attire and will provide music and dance. Also, Rob McNurlin the cowboy singer is back! Enjoy rich pleasant vocals as he entertains with a potpourri of musical styles.
