Paddling

There are numerous streams and lakes along Kentucky State Parks for paddlers, offering everything from flat-water to whitewater!

Non-motorized lake rentals, such as canoes, kayaks, pedalboats and stand-up paddle boards are available for a fee. Click HERE for a list of what gear options are at which park. Call your park of choice for more information on pricing as rental fees differ from park to park.

Two parks have kayak/canoe access only campgrounds. They are Yatesville Lake State Park and Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. To reserve one of these sites at Yatesville Lake, CLICK HERE and to reserve a paddle/boat-in campsite at Jenny Wiley call (606) 889-1790.

Carter Caves State Resort Park Olive Hill, KY

General Butler State Resort Park Carrollton, KY

Located along I-71 between Louisville and Cincinnati, the park is a fitting tribute to one of Kentucky's foremost military families. Named for General William Orlando Butler, the military family spans from colonial time through the American Revolution, War of 1812, Mexican War and Civil War. A stone overlook was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1930s so guests can enjoy the same river scenes the Butlers viewed in times past. Greenbo Lake State Resort Park Greenup, KY

Kincaid Lake State Park Falmouth, KY

A campground, a 183-acre lake, hiking trails, mini-golf and a 9-hole golf course are all the ingredients that make Kincaid Lake a popular retreat for campers, fishermen, boaters, golfers and families. Kingdom Come State Park Cumberland, KY

Kingdom Come State Park, with an elevation of 2,700 feet, is the crowning jewel in the crest of Pine Mountain near Cumberland, Kentucky. Admire the beautiful views from one of eight overlooks, hike a trail or fish for bass, crappie and trout in the lake.

Natural Bridge State Resort Park Slade, KY

Natural Bridge State Resort Park invites you to experience a truly magnificent and serene natural environment. Come and explore the beauty of natural arches and rugged sandstone cliff lines. Our greatest attribute remains the same: the 'Natural Bridge'. This magnificent arch, which is 65 feet tall and 78 feet long, is one of the most famous natural sandstone arches in Kentucky. Paintsville Lake State Park Staffordsville, KY

The park offers three great trail options. Hikers will love the 1.6-mile Kiwanis Trail and the 7-mile Adena Trail. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park Dawson Springs, KY
