Celebrate Valentine’s Day at a Kentucky State Park in 2018 with your special someone! Many parks are offering events and packages in February to help celebrate Valentine’s Day.
State parks provide a great place for a getaway weekend along with excellent food, entertainment, natural beauty and scenery.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas
Honeymooner’s Weekend, Feb. 9-10
Barren River Lake State Resort Park invites you to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Bring your special someone for a fun, romantic weekend getaway. Friday night is costume karaoke night! Saturday afternoon will feature the “Not-so-Newly Wed Game” to see how well you know each other. Saturday night, sit down at the Driftwood Restaurant and enjoy a delicious dinner buffet, then dance to your favorite songs provided by a DJ from 8 p.m. – midnight. Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, Mount Olivet
Murder Mystery, Feb. 16
The ever so popular group, Murder and Merriment, will make their first appearance at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park with a mind-bending and entertaining murder mystery performance. Guests will enjoy a great buffet-style meal and then become sleuths as they collect clues to find out who committed the murder! Tickets are $39.95 per person and include the dinner and show. Carter Caves State Resort Park, Olive Hill
Red Skelton Remembered, Feb. 9-10
Carter Caves will host "Red Skelton: Remembered" for the 2018 Valentine’s Dinner Theater. Enjoy a buffet from Tierney's Cavern and then sit back and enjoy as Jennings B. Barnett brings to life the jokes and pantomimes of Red Skelton. Skelton began in radio and later was known in television for the “The Red Skelton Show” that ran for 20 years. Skelton appeared in 48 motion pictures, performed before the Queen of England, eight U.S. presidents, and in three private showings for Popes. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Seating will begin at 6:45 p.m. The cost for the dinner and show is $39.99 (plus tax) per person. Cumberland Falls has been a romantic getaway for decades. Bring your sweetie to the park for a night of entertainment and relaxation. Remember the hit daytime TV game show, "Match Game"? Step back in time with “Murderous Match Game” featuring the celebrities you loved back in the early 1970's. It's murder with side splitting laughs! Spend the evening dining and playing detective as you try to solve a "murder" by gathering clues and mingling with "suspects." There are two packages offered. Guests will get their choice of one of the following: 6-ounce sirloin, all-you –can-eat catfish, 2-piece grilled chicken breast, or Porterhouse pork chop. Looking for something fun and unique to do with your sweetie for Valentine’s Day? Waveland State Historic site is serving tea on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m.! All teas include a program, savory food, not to mention the delicious tea served by period dressed interpreters. Once you are finished with the tea, enjoy a tour of the Waveland Mansion.
