Celebrate Valentine’s Day at a Kentucky State Park this year with your special someone! Many parks are offering events and packages in February to help celebrate Valentine’s Day. 

**New this year are two Kentucky Lake cruises on the CQ Princess that are part of weekend packages. Kenlake State Resort Park is offering a dinner cruise on Feb. 13 and Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park is offering a dessert-tasting cruise on Feb. 14. 

State parks provide a great place for a getaway weekend along with excellent food, entertainment, natural beauty and scenery. Listed below are the parks with Valentine’s packages and programs and the park phone number.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park
Honeymooners Weekend
Feb. 12-14

Barren River Lake State Resort Park invites you to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Bring your special someone for a fun, romantic weekend getaway. Friday night is costume karaoke night!  Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. will feature the “Not-so-Newly Wed Game” to see how well you know each other.  Saturday night, sit down in the Driftwood Restaurant and enjoy a delicious dinner buffet, then dance to your favorite songs provided by a DJ from 8 p.m.-midnight. Kenlake State Resort Park
Valentine Cruise Package

Your Valentine will feel extra special when treated to a three-hour evening cruise aboard the CQ Princess. Dinner and dessert will be served Saturday evening on Kentucky Lake as you soak in the starry night sky from the observation windows.  Spend a relaxing evening in a room or cottage at Kenlake State Resort Park.  Awake on Sunday morning to a southern breakfast buffet.  Package plan only $214 per couple for lodge room, cruise and meal. Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park

Treat your loved one to a Kentucky Lake experience.  The getaway includes a romantic dinner for two, one-night stay in the lodge, breakfast for two, and a 3-hour luxury dessert tasting cruise aboard the CQ Princess on Kentucky Lake on Sunday for $185.89 plus taxes and fees. Lake Barkley State Resort Park
Valentine's Weekend
Feb. 13-14

Lake Barkley is making it easy by designing a weekend dedicated to love. Check in to a lake view room and enjoy the park. Dance the night away Saturday night at a Sweetheart Dance featuring music by a DJ. The dance will also feature a cash bar. A one-night package with lodging Saturday night, activities, dinner, dance, and Sunday breakfast is $149.99 per couple. Dinner and dance only packages are also available for $90 and dance only $50. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park
Valentine’s Getaway
Feb. 13-14

Come to Pennyrile Forest for a romantic Valentine weekend! Festivities will begin with a romantic dinner in the Clifty Creek Restaurant, filled with music with the band, After Math, from Frankfort, Ky. The package will include: one night’s lodging, dinner for two, deluxe continental breakfast for two, and music on Feb. 13 for $125 plus tax. The park is offering a package that includes a lodge room for two nights, a Friday evening paint and wine class, prime rib buffet Saturday night, a dance Saturday night with music by Junction Creek Band (cash bar), and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Dale Hollow is hosting a Sweetheart Night on Feb. 13. Enjoy a romantic evening getaway with dinner in the Island View Restaurant with live entertainment by local musicians Easton Bryant and John Capps. Enjoy a lodge room Saturday night, dinner and special Valentine's gift for only $109.81 per couple. The dinner buffet includes Kentucky Proud steamship round of beef, chicken jubilee, golden fried jumbo shrimp, stuffed pork loin and side items. Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park

Patrons will dine from a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet featuring Kentucky State Park favorites as well as a dessert buffet. Afterwards, be treated to great entertainment with a murder-mystery! Fantastical Theatricals will present “Darling, You Slay Me” at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 and 13. Tickets are $35 (includes tax) per person for dinner and entertainment. E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park
Sweetheart Wreath Workshop
Feb. 13

Learn how to make your own heart-shaped wreath from natural materials found in our state! We'll use vines to create a wreath base, and then decorate them with natural and other materials.  The park will provide everything necessary, but feel free to bring any items you'd like to add for a more personal touch.  The workshop is 1-3 p.m. and costs $10 per wreath. General Butler State Resort Park
Perfect Harmony Dinner & Dance
Feb. 13

How does a special night of fine dining and dancing sound? If you say perfect, then mark this event on your calendar! The dance floor will be out for all to enjoy, or just feel free to sit back and be entertained with the perfect harmony sounds of a 9-piece band called “'The Usual Suspects” from Louisville. The park is offering two options. The General Butler Lodging Package is $175.95 plus tax per couple. It includes Saturday night lodging, the dinner and dance, and Sunday breakfast buffet. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park

Lake Cumberland State Resort Park welcomes you to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart with a romantic getaway. A special package includes a lodge room for one night with a Saturday dinner buffet (5-8 p.m.) that includes carved roast beef tenderloin, chicken parmesan, fried catfish, ravioli with fire roasted sweet corn cream sauce, asparagus and artichoke with roasted garlic and parmesan cheese sauce casserole and more. Also included is a special breakfast buffet consisting of an omelet station, fruit and yogurt bar and more. Carter Caves will explode with laughter, murder and mayhem with our very first Valentine Murder Mystery. Enjoy a delicious dinner buffet, featuring several of our chef’s specialties.  Then, test your sleuth skills as you help solve the fiendishly funny “Silent Night, Deadly Night!” performed by the company Murder and Merriment.  Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m.  Seating will begin at 6:45 p.m. The cost for the dinner and show is $34.95 (plus tax) per person.  Also available is a package that includes the dinner, show and an overnight stay in Lewis Caveland Lodge for just $130.95 + tax for two people. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

Cumberland Falls has been a romantic getaway for decades. Bring your sweetie for a night of entertainment and relaxation. On Saturday evening, Fantastical Theatricals will entertain with an interactive murder mystery dinner theater. Jenny Wiley State Resort Park

Make plans for a special weekend at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park for Valentine’s weekend. The park is offering a special overnight package that includes one night’s lodging, Saturday night dinner for two, breakfast for two and chocolate-covered strawberries in your room for $109 plus tax per couple. The park is also offering a Valentine’s Dinner on Feb. 13 from 4-9 p.m. that will feature a choice of two entrees – all-you-can-eat catfish, porterhouse pork chop, sirloin steak or two-piece grilled chicken breast with one side item, soup and salad bar for $30 per couple (tax and drink not included). Pine Mountain State Resort Park
Murder Mystery Dinner Theater

Set around a three-course dinner, Bluegrass Mystery Theatre will be performing their production of “Love is Murder” in the park’s C.V. Whitney Convention Center. Enjoying the food from the Mountain View Restaurant will be easy, but identifying the murderer may be another story! Come help crack the case! Waveland State Historic Site
Tea Tuesday at Waveland
Feb. 16
Waveland is kicking off the 2016 Tea Tuesday at Waveland with a special Valentine’s high tea and low tea on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Normally, our teas start at 2 p.m. but for this special Tea Tuesday, Waveland will host a low tea served at 1:00 p.m. and high tea served at 6:30 p.m. All teas include savory food, not to mention the delicious tea served by period dressed interpreters.
