Intro to Canoes and Kayaks
Pine Mountain State Resort Park
To kick off our new partnership with Union College and U-Canoe, we want to offer a free guided trip down the beautiful Cumberland River. The morning will begin with an intro to equipment selection, places to paddle, how to paddle, and a few demonstrations. In the afternoon we will depart for our beautiful float down the Cumberland. The Dam Triathlon:
Rough River Dam State Resort Park
Rough River Dam State Resort Park teams up with the US Army Corps of Engineers and major event sponsor The Friends of Rough River to hold the annual "The Dam Triathlon". Starting at Rough River Beach, contestants paddle 7.2 miles, then bike 9.6 miles, and finish with 2.2 mile run/walk. Individual times kept and trophies awarded. The Kentucky Waterman Series
First event at Fort Boonesborough State Park
This all-inclusive race series will guide paddlers of all skill levels on an amazing journey across the state’s scenic waterways and lakes through 11 paddlesports races. Each race will feature a unified class system, rankings leaderboard, and will continue the tradition of rad custom awards & prizes. Stand-up paddlers, canoeists, and kayakers are invited. The first event of the year is the Bluegrass River Run, which launches from Fort Boonesborough State Park on May 12th along the start of the Kentucky River Palisades. Registration deadline is May 4. Taylorsville Lake Paddle Battle Weekend
Taylorsville Lake State Park
Mark your calendars for a great weekend of paddling in Taylorsville, KY on June 8-10, 2018. The 5th Annual Taylorsville Lake Paddle Battle will be held on June 9 at Taylorsville Lake State Park.
At noon on June 8, and at 9 AM on June 10, there will be Forward Stroke Clinics, sponsored by Stellar Kayaks, that will be aimed at the recreational racer and above.
