Kentucky State Park Easter Buffet
April 21, 2019

Kentucky State Parks will be serving the annual Easter buffet April 21 at 15 resort park restaurants. The price for adults is $19.50, and children (12 and under) are $9.50, not including tax. The price does not include a beverage. The buffet will be served starting at noon with various ending times. Click here to view the menu! 

Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park will be serving a different menu that includes baked ham, catfish and chicken and dumplings for $12.95 for adults and $6.95 for kids ages 6-12. Drink not included. Kenlake State Resort Park will be open for breakfast on Easter. All other resort parks will host the buffet. 

Several parks are planning Easter egg hunts and other family festivities in April, many of them the weekend of April 20-21. Here are the details:


Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas
Easter Egg Hunt, April 20
More than 2,000 candy and toy-filled eggs will be hidden at Barren River Lake State Resort Park for kids to find! A prize will be awarded to the finder of the “special egg” in each age category. Free. Starts at 10 a.m. April 20. Participants meet at the Tennis Court Shelter near the lodge parking lot. Call 270-646-2151.


Carter Caves State Resort Park, Olive Hill

Brunch With the Easter Bunny, Egg Hunt, April 20-21
Have brunch with the Easter Bunny on Saturday April 20. Begin the morning by arriving at 10 a.m. for photo time with the Easter Bunny. While you wait, enjoy some craft time with your child. Then, dine from a delicious buffet prepared by Chef Falon Brown at Tierney’s Cavern. Cost is $15/Adult $15/Child (Child’s cost includes a 5X7 picture with the Easter Bunny). The annual Easter buffet is on Sunday, April 21, followed by the Easter egg hunt for kids age 12 and under at 2 p.m. at the Welcome Center sponsored by the Friends of Carter Caves. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park
Easter Egg Hunt, April 21
After the annual Easter Buffet, stick around for the Easter Egg Hunt! This activity is intended for ages 10 and under and will take place at the Pavilion behind the pool. Gates will open at 2 p.m. and the hunt starts at 2:30! Call 606-528-4121. 


Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, Burkesville
Egg Hunt, April 20
Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park has traveled east of the sunrise to Bunny Hollow, where jellybean trees grow and marshmallow chicks peep in the sunrise, to find Peter Cottontail. At 10:30 a.m. on April 20, Peter will begin his egg hunt in the campground. Eggs of all colors have been hidden. Fun for all ages! Call 270-433-7431.


Fort Boonesborough State Park, Richmond
Easter Fest, April 12-14
Join us for our Easter celebration with lots of activities.  We will have scheduled times for bingo, Easter crafts, an Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny, free putt-putt and tours, camper decoration contest, and a whole lot more.  There is a free continental breakfast on Sunday.  This event is for registered campers only.  For more information please call 859-527-3454 or email [email protected]


Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, Greenup

Easter Egg Hunt, April 20
Hop on down to Greenbo Lake State Resort Park’s amphitheater for an Easter Egg Hunt.  The Easter Bunny will hide 2,000 eggs and will be there to greet you.  Pictures with the Easter Bunny and crafts for the kids will start at noon on April 20 followed by two egg hunts.  The first hunt for ages 0–5 will start at 2 p.m. The second hunt for ages 6–12 will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in each category.  Easter Egg Hunt is free. Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, Prestonsburg

Easter Egg Hunt, April 20
Visit the park campground at 2 p.m. on April 20 for the annual Easter Egg Hunt! More than 8,000 candy and prize-filled eggs will be hidden. For ages 12 and under. This event is sponsored by East Kentucky Archery and Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Call 606-889-1790.

John James Audubon State Park, Henderson
Eggstravaganza, April 6
Bring your little Bunnies ages 3-8, to John James Audubon State Park Museum on Saturday, April 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for a hoppin’ good time at the annual "Eggstravaganza.” Children will enjoy creating and painting their very own Bunny to take home. Real LIVE Bunnies will definitely be a hit! Children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $5 and registration is required, so please call 270-826-2247.




Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Cadiz
Easter Egg Hunt, April 21
Lake Barkley State Resort Park showers the fields with over 3,000 eggs in our Egg-ceptional Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 21! The Easter Bunny arrives at the fitness center at 2:30 p.m. and the egg hunt starts at 3 p.m. at the fitness center. From toddlers to teenagers, bring your baskets and gather some egg-ceptional goodies. Employees of Lake Barkley State Park and Friends of Lake Barkley SRP, Inc. sponsor this egg hunt. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, Jamestown
Easter Egg Hunt, April 20
Visit Lake Cumberland State Resort Park on April 20 at 11 a.m. for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! The Easter Bunny will be joining us for all the fun! Free mini golf from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Kids eat free in the Rowena Landing Restaurant, with the purchase of an adult lunch buffet. The park’s recreation staff will be hosting loads of fun games and activities! Call 270-343-3111.

Lake Malone State Park, Dunmor
Easter Egg Hunt, April 20
The Friends of Lake Malone State Park will sponsor an Easter egg hunt that starts at noon. The Easter bunny is scheduled to make an appearance, so bring your baskets and a camera! Refreshments will also be available. This event is free and open to the public. Call 270-657-2111.

Old Fort Harrod State Park, Harrodsburg
Community Easter Egg and Candy Hunt, April 20
Everyone is invited out to attend this celebration on the front lawn at Old Fort Harrod State Park from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on April 20! This event sponsored by the Harrodsburg Kiwanis Club brings out hundreds of youngsters of all ages.  Games and booths and the Easter Bunny, too. Call 859-734-3314 for information. 

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park
Easter Eggcitement, April 21
Make Easter Eggciting at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park!  The annual Easter buffet will be offered from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Easter bunny photos will be taken at 1:30 p.m. ($2 per photo). A free Easter egg hunt will be at 2:30 p.m. at the lodge. This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Pennyrile. Call 270-797-3421.

Rough River Dam State Resort Park, Falls of Rough
Easter Extravaganza, April 20
One of the largest Easter Egg Hunt’s in the area is brought to you by the Friends of Rough River and happens April 20, the day before Easter Sunday at Rough River Dam State Resort Park. There are hunts for all age groups from age 1 to 11 years of age. Prizes and lots of fun. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. Central time, with the hunt beginning at 1 p.m. More than 7,000 eggs will be distributed at Rough River Dam State Resort Park.  Grayson's Landing Restaurant will also have a kid-friendly buffet.
