Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site
Celebration of Quilts & Quilting
June 6 - 8, 2019
Love quilts? Looking for a quilter's day out or a retreat for your quilt club? This event is for you!
Celebration headquarters will be at the Meetinghouse where you will find the 2019 challenge entries, "Pattern Place", "Cindy's Quilt Store", and the featured exhibit; a collection of some 70 quilts by the Craig Sisters of Monroe County, KY. Also throughout the event you can enjoy the annual "Drive-by Quilt Hanging"! This unique tribute to the community's quilting heritage has homeowners and businesses throughout the county hanging a quilt in their yard or store window for people to enjoy as they "drive-by".
The fun begins Thursday evening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and presentation of awards.

On Friday several businesses in town will host quilt exhibits and some will offer special discounts to Celebration participants. At the park there will be detailed quilting demonstrations and the ever popular "Trunk Show & Tell". We invite you to bring a quilt to share too.

On Saturday you can see another 200+ quilts by visiting our satellite exhibits. These satellites will be held within a short drive of the park. At the park you'll find a variety of interactive quilting demonstrations and a small arts and crafts fair in the Meetinghouse yard.

Admission armbands and a map for Friday and Saturday's activities must be purchased at the park. Cost is $5.00/person. Armbands are good for both days.

Vendors are welcomed but must fit the theme of the event due to space limitations. Contact the park to receive vendor information.

Folk, old-time, western, western swing, early country, and others are played on a regular basis at the festival. There are all sorts of musical configurations, from family bands or husband and wife duets, to people playing on stage who just met each other a few minutes ago in the parking lot.  Wednesday night is a free “jamming in the round” session at the Recreation Shelter House in the campground.  Concerts will be held in the Park Amphitheatre on Thursday evening, Friday afternoon & evening, and Saturday afternoon & evening.  Concert fees range from $5-$10.  A $28 weekend pass is available which admits you to all the concerts and jam sessions.  For more information visit the event website at
