Kentucky State Parks is excited to announce major renovations coming to several of our lodges, campgrounds and cottages over the next year. We know closures can be disappointing—but these investments will enhance your park experience for years to come.
- Jenny Wiley State Resort Park lodge is closed for critical structural integrity renovations. The conference center is closed July-December for improvements and the marina will be back open for business March 15, 2027
- Lake Barkley State Resort Park lodge and cottages are closed for improvements including new bedding, drapes, flooring, art, bathrooms, mini fridge as well as interior updates to the lobby and restaurant. Cottages will remain available.
- Cumberland Falls State Resort Park lodge is closed through fall of 2026 for renovation (cabin & cottage rentals are still available during this time). Improvements will include full renovations to enlarge rooms as well as new bedding, drapes, flooring, bathrooms, mini fridges, art, and lighting.
- Barren River State Resort Park lodge is closed through spring of 2027. Renovations will include updating lodge rooms with new bedding, drapes, flooring, bathrooms, mini fridges, and art. The restaurant, lobby and meeting room will also receive key updates. The cottages are currently closed due to storm damage.
- Lake Cumberland State Resort Park lodge is closed through spring of 2027. Renovations will include new bedding, drapes, flooring, bathrooms, mini fridges, and art in the lodge rooms. The lodge lobby and restaurant will also receive aesthetic updates. Cottages will remain available for rental.
The following campgrounds are closed currently for renovations and repairs including upgraded electric, water connections, parking pads and more:
- My Old Kentucky Home State Park campground opening date TBD
- Kenlake State Resort Park campground reopening TBD
- Fort Boonesborough State Park campground reopening mid-2027
- Jenny Wiley State Resort Park campground reopening April 2027
Historic flooding and severe weather has impacted Kentucky State Parks, and we are working diligently to ensure the safety of our visitors. Here’s the latest status on closures:
- Nolin Lake State Park campground opening TBD; boat ramp and trails open
- Green River Lake State Park campground will open July 31st to limited primitive and self-contained units, with no electrical service at sites.
