Geocaching

Kentucky State Parks encourages the exploration of the diverse cultural, historical and natural history of our parks through the sport of geocaching.

In order to protect those resources, anyone wishing to place a cache at a Kentucky State Park must complete an application for a permit prior to placing the cache.

Get Started

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. To find geocaches at Kentucky State Parks CLICK HERE.

Permitting

Review and approval/denial of the permit application may take up to 30 days. Applicant and geocaching.com or letterboxing.org will be notified by e-mail or hard copy of division approval.

Reminder: Caches or letterboxes may be established only after division approval has been received.
