Kentucky State Parks is excited to announce major renovations coming to several of our State Resort Park Lodges over the next year. We know closures can be disappointing—but these investments will enhance your park experience for years to come.
- Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is closed for critical structural integrity renovations.
- Lake Barkley State Resort Park lodge rooms are closed and cottages will be closing January 2026 for improvements including new bedding, drapes, flooring, art, bathrooms, mini fridge as well as interior updates to the lobby and restaurant.
- Cumberland Falls State Resort Park lodge will have limited availability starting in November through the Fall of 2026. These improvements will include Full renovations to enlarge rooms as well as new bedding, drapes, flooring, bathrooms, mini fridges, art, and lighting.
- Barren River State Resort Park lodge will close in February through the Fall of 2026. Renovations will include updating lodge rooms with new bedding, drapes, flooring, bathrooms, mini fridges, and art. The restaurant, lobby and meeting room will also receive key updates.
- Lake Cumberland State Resort Park lodge will close in January through the Fall of 2026. Renovations will include new bedding, drapes, flooring, bathrooms, mini fridges, and art in the lodge rooms. The lodge lobby and restaurant will also receive aesthetic updates.
The following campgrounds are closed currently for renovations and repairs including upgraded electric, water connections, parking pads and more:
- Taylorsville Lake State Park campground – until November 2025
- My Old Kentucky Home State Park campground – until November 2025
- Carter Caves State Resort Park campground – until January 2026
- Greenbo Lake State Resort Park campground – closed November 2025 through early 2026. Reopen date anticipated April 2026
- Kenlake State Resort Park campground – until April 2026
- Nolin Lake State Park campground – closed indefinitely
- Green River Lake State Park campground – closed through mid-2026
- Fort Boonesborough State Park campground – closed through mid-2026
Historic flooding and severe weather has impacted Kentucky State Parks, and we are working diligently to ensure the safety of our visitors. Here’s the latest status on closures:
