Throughout this interactive New Kentucky Home writing workshop, award-winning writer, teacher and Kentucky Poet Laureate Kathleen Driskell will provide craft lessons and writing exercises that focus on participant’s experiences during guided nature walks at Pine Mountain State Resort Park. Students will practice writing that develops skills in description, setting, character, world-building, revision and more. At the end of the workshop, students will take away more advanced writing skills, as well as nuggets of writing that can be further polished into poems, fiction and creative nonfiction.

 

  • Open to all levels, from beginning to advanced
  • Open to all genres: fiction, poetry, nonfiction, etc. 
  • Retreat spots are limited, and registration is first come, first served.

 

Cost:

  • Single Occupancy - $503.80 plus tax
  • Double Occupancy- $659.38 plus tax
  • Includes: Two Nights Lodging, Five Meals (Friday Dinner; Saturday Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner; Sunday Breakfast) and the workshop
